yesterday i got a phone call from the DWP telling me that i have lost my income support benifits during this call i was told i got 0 points out of either 15 or 16 points i asked the man does this mean you are saying that i dont have deprssion anxiety a bad back a bad knee etc his reply was no we know you are suffering these things but you are fit for work but we can help you back to work at this point i let out a wee chuckle couldnt help it (lets paint a wee picture of why i let out a chuckle. i got sober in december 2003 and ever since then i have suffered bad depression even taking an overdose not long after getting sober this was due to a number of things like being depressed not knowing if i could stay sober & be a real dad to my son & no a pissed up alky like he had before (luckily i did & he was to young i hope to remember me like that) not having a job having no money on JSA and not knowing how to cope with life in general sober(sounds daft i know) luckily my od was a half arsed attempt & the pills i had taken were not strong phew i have learend from this & will never do this again as the main reason for it was i thought every one was better off without me having caused my mum & dad so much pain with my drinking & the antics that came with it i know now its not my choice to make if they are better off without me they will make that choice as will my son if that time ever comes.

so in the 8 years or so i have been on the brew/income support i have had no help what so ever with anything other than one day a man from DWP came to my house as i had missed my assement appointment and he told me i should be getting DLA in his opinion so i applied i got told no so i appealed i still to this day have not heard back so thats all the help ever nevemind to get back to work.

now you may be thinking that im just another dole scrounger and thats your god given right to your opinion but here is why i think they have taken me off my benifits i have in the last few months split with my girlfriend this gave me the kick up the arse i have been needing i would say since i got sober but if im being honest its been a lot longer i now know i can & will not let my depression anxiety beat me anymore i am going to fight tooth & nail to beat it so i have taken steps to doing this i have made appointmenst with the cpn & pshyciatrist & also with a place who will help me with things like interview technics my confidance etc all things i need help with on my journey to getting better & getting my life on track, you may be wondering well if he is wanting a job what the fuck is he complaining about being taken of sickness benifits for dumb ass well my complaint is that they claimed to be able to help me back into work yet im working on getting my head sorted stuff like not putting myself down all the time thinking positive these are steps im taking on my own but the DWP are now i feel forcing me to move to many steps ahead that im not ready for just yet & need to take in my own time other wise i may be back at square one or worse set back further all i want is some time to see the cpns etc & then i can be taken off the income support as i will be ready right now i am looking for a job but i need a job thats not going to send me back to were i was i want a job that even if it doesnt last forever it does set me up to be able to keep on working rather than take any job that if i lose it may mean im back on benifits sureley a little time to get it right for me and the possibility of me not being back on dole money again is not to much to ask.

the government (tories in westminster) are running scotland to the ground with there expensses like 2,3,4 houses while people who need help cant get it people are losing jobs everyday while the government let the bankers off with paying back what they owe for the bail out while taking millions in bonuses why i guess cause they are getting back handers from them then there good old queenie taking millions from her subjects while doing fuck all for it i mean when the ression is so bad benifits & jobs are being lost left right & centre but the government can pay for a party for her its a bit of a piss take to say the least.

the benifts system need sorted yes people are abusing it and stealing money from the taxpayers but there are genuine people who need it that are losing it while the people above steal your money in much larger amounts every day are they any worse than some one taking dole money they dont need i would say yes as they are stealing millions both are crimes and should be punished but the above are people entrusted to run our countrys and are just out to fill there own pockets
